Pre and Post Natal Care: ACC and Private appointments
Affirm Rehab is a ACC registered practice covering maternal birth injuries (MBIs) and musculoskeletal pain associated with injury.
Pre and post natal support may be required along your journey for:
Back and pelvic pain - sacroiliac joint or pubic bone pain (SPD)
Upper back, hip, neck or shoulder pain
Bladder or bowel continence problems
Pelvic organ prolapse
Diastasis recti/ abdominal wall separation
Pelvic floor muscle/ core strengthening
Painful sex
Return to exercise

If you are eligible for ACC we are able to help with filling out forms for you, to access help with funding treatment. Your lead maternity care provider can also facilitate this.
Continence Management:
Pelvic health physiotherapy can support anyone suffering with bladder or bowel problems affecting their quality of life.
Bladder:
Bladder continence issues include experiencing urine leaking, urine urgency, high urine frequency, difficulty emptying the bladder, and recurrent bladder infections.
Bowel:
Bowel continence issues include experiencing bowel leaking, bowel urgency, accidental passing of wind, high bowel frequency, difficulty emptying the bowel, and constipation.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse:
Prolapse can cause some people to feel a low, heavy, dragging or bulge sensation in the pelvis. Sometimes there may also be bladder or bowel issues associated with a prolapse which can include experiencing urine or bowel leaking, urine or bowel urgency, high urine and bowel frequency, and difficulty emptying the bladder or bowel.
Pelvic and Sexual pain:
Pelvic and sexual pain is complex and will often require individualised, multifactorial management to support you in feeling better.

Pelvic Surgery:
Pelvic health physiotherapy can be beneficial to support in rehabilitation for pre and post pelvic surgery.
This may include but is not limited to prostatectomy surgery, prolapse surgery, hysterectomy and gender affirmation surgery.
